she's not yours to keep.

"is there anybody going to listen to my story, all about the girl who came to stay..,"
the radio played. she wasn't a normal girl. she did normal things, though. she sat at home and read books. she didn't go to school. she couldn't, because something prevented her to; the one thing that made her not normal. the one thing that made people hate her, dislike her, and want to hurt her. she lived in a small apartment in downtown london. she only ever went out in the night, when no one would notice. notice what, you ask? well... i'll tell you that another night.

so, carrying off from the night before..
she stepped out of her apartment building, taking a deep breath of the crisp, cold, winter air, then exhaling. she closed her eyes. it was dark out, it was night time, her favorite part of a day. her wings flipped open gracefully; with ease and without harm. slowly she stepped away from the big scene of the people walking by, pushing her forward and back, all wanting to get home to their families, to eat dinner*. she walked away from it all in a quick frenzy and immediately set her wings to work. she jumped up and flew out of the air. where was she going? she was heading to her native home; aer. the place where having wings was a normal thing, where she bought her clothes, food, and bought things to help her survive in england.
she had to abandon aer, it was dying. the only way she got food was because of imports from secret agencies in other lands; barely enough, though, to let people live on the island. as soon as she set foot on aer for the nth time in her life, she stepped to the market and bought her food. the moon was bright, it was full. blinded by it.
once she purchased all she needed, she left, flew back to home. "home". little did she know that as she concealed her wings back inside her trenchcoat, there had been a boy in his room, watching her through his window on the top floor of the building across from hers.

as soon as she slipped into sleep, she was woken up by a loud thump. quickly, she got up out of bed, put on a robe and some slippers, then grabbed a large wooden rod to be safe. she walked over to the light switch, flipped it on without being scared, then spotted a boy who looked around 18 years old.
"who are you?" she said, curious and suspicious.
"i know you have wings, you don't need to be afraid of my opinion," he replied, calmly, with a smug look on his face.
"oh, alright."
"i've watched you night after night, leaving your building, flying off to wherever you fly off to. where is it? can you take me there?"
she was shocked, apalled, but thrilled that he was interested in her and where she went. "okay," she said, "let me just get into some clothes."
while walking away from the mysterious boy who somehow sneaked his way into her apartment, she thought about how he figured out about her, why he was so interested in her. she picked a short white dress that had a sort of tokyo-mew-mew type of look, with a bow on the back and everything; slots for her wings. she put special, shimmery white make up on, with the blush and what-not, then put on a dark red lipstick to really pop it up. she walked back to the boy and told him to hold her hand.

when they left, they left the building first, and then they appeared on the street. people were already asleep and in bed, so she had no reason to hide her wings or be scared. as she held his hand, she lifted into the air and took him to a darkened, silvery cloud that hid the moon. it had a tall, sort of transparent type of castle placed in the center.
"w-what is that? what is this place?" the boy asked, stuttering at the fact that he was standing on a cloud, and at the great tallness of the castle.
"my old home. the place where good things happen," she replied, as if she said it every day. she didn't show any emotion, or reveal how she felt about anything. she looked at him with her dark, blackened eyes, and he stared right into her. he couldn't find her soul, or find a single ounce of emotion. just blank. she turned away from him and stared at the moon, the moon that reflected in her eyes; the beautiful black eyes that no one on earth owned except for that girl no one knew.

she pulled his hand hard as she ran through the large corridors of the castle. she hadn't been there for a week or so, so it got a bit dusty. it was crystal, all over. clear. there weren't any doors or windows or walls that you couldn't see through. there wasn't a single thing to fear in this place.
"where are you taking me?" the boy asked, wonderingly.
"the place i go."
her hair was whipping in her face, she was running quick, turning fast at every corner. the she stopped abruptly at one room that had a purple theme to it. this was the only room in the castle that was colored; the walls were all purple, but there was no decoration or furniture.
"what is this place?" he thought out loud, trying to figure out why it was purple, and why she even went here if it was empty.
"it's my sanctuary. it's where i receive information; it's what i do," she said, sounding confused.
"is there supposed to be no furniture here?"
"no, it's supposed to have furniture," the girl replied, with a frustrated look on her face. "i don't know where the furniture went!"
one moment later, a man in a black coat that covered all of his skin from head to toe showed up at the door. she whipped her face around and looked angry. "where did you put my furniture?! WHY HAVE YOU TAKEN IT!" she yelled.
"i took it because you know better than to show your wings, you know how judgmental those filthy humans can be," the man in black replied.
"this isn't fair, i NEED that furniture!"
"no, you don't. if you bring this boy here again, you know what will happen."
"yes, i do! you don't know what it means!"
"then maybe you wouldn't have brought that boy here," the man said, sneering at the boy.
"you can't-", she started, being interrupted.
"i can take it away. i have the authority," the man walked away from the girl, ending the conversation.
"we need to go," the girl said to the boy.
"go where?"
"you ask too many questions! just listen to me and follow!"
"alright."
she took his hand and clenched it. she knew what would happen if she brought the boy back. and she wanted it to happen. she wanted a reason to live. she ran out of the room, out of the castle, then jumped off the cloud and told the boy to trust her as she made her wings come out of their hiding place.

a few days later, the girl was confronted by the boy again.
"will you take me to the special place you showed me the other night?"
"yes, i will." she knew what would happen, she was not scared.

"i warned you," the man's voice came.
"i know you did, and i'm not afraid. you will not take him away from me."
the man swept the girl off her feet and put her over his arm.
"let me go!" she screamed, "you do not touch a princess the way you are!" right then, she summoned a fairy and a beam of light came down. the man was knocked off his feet. she took the boy's hand again and they ran out of the castle for another time, but this time they weren't going home. they were going to a new place.

blah i suck at this. seriously i need ideas! and help.. and criticism/comments/critique!!

she arrived with the boy in her arms. the place was empty. it was a vast white room. then, right out of nowhere, a league of men in black appeared one by one, with swords or any other type of weapon in their hands.
the girl pulled out a long, silver sword from a secret pocket in her trenchcoat. she walked up to a man and put the sword to his throat.
"why have you condemned me? why have you made me hide who i am?"
the man replied, "because, no human would accept you."
"maybe they would accept me if you had not hidden me from them."
the man choked. "please, take the sword away."
"no. i will not." she made a cut on his throat, then removed the sword. suddenly, a man attacked her.
"hide, go away, quick," she told the boy.
"where?!!"
"inside me," she replied, pulling him into her body.
as the men attacked her, she felt glorious and filled with suspense. once she defeated all of these men, she could finally ask the One for permission to reveal her true identity to the public of the world. the One was a kind and generous man and she knew he'd give her a chance. at the point she'd be given permission to reveal, she'd finally have control over her life.

the girl stepped the sidewalk in the night. she was going underground. she walked for a while and then stopped at a black door that appeared randomly in the middle of the road. she opened the door and a spiraling staircase appeared before her, then after staring at the staircase, she walked down it. you could hear her steps echo throughout. where was she going? where was she exactly, anyway?

after she reached the bottom of the staircase, she reached yet another random door that was pure white. she opened the door and walked in. she heard a voice.
"what have you come here for?" the voice asked.
"i've come to ask for my freedom. i defeated the crows," she replied, calmly.
"you cannot have your freedom until you complete one mission."
"what is it?"
"to rescue the boy."
"but.. he was hidden through my body, what do you mean, 'rescue'?" she asked, a nervous tone to her voice; shaky and unstable, like she was scared something went wrong.
"you didn't realize, did you? the boy was taken away by the crows. once you have found the boy, i will give you your freedom," the voice in the light replied, echoing and bouncing off the walls; neverending.

the girl panicked. she had no idea where to look for the boy, but as she thought about this, a message on a wall appeared, written in blood... or so it looked. it gave her a hint, a clue to where she could find the boy. it told her to obtain an item found under the sea. she wondered what sea, and realized it might have meant "C". and she knew where the C was. she went there frequently. it was a special bar; a bar that was dark and never saw the light of day. it stayed open all night. it never opened in the day.
she took a taxi to the C and thought about what she'd do and where she'd look for the item. what item was it? what did it do? what could it do for her, and why did she need it anyway? the taxi stopped at the front of the C; it had a bright neon sign blinking "the C" attached to the wall of the front. you could barely see a thing except a few blacklights from the inside of the building. she paid the fee of the ride and left the cab, then she went into an alley and found a door that went down to a deep basement. as she turned the door, someone tapped her on the shoulder and she gasped out of fear.
"hello," the someone said.
"hello," she replied, turning around to see the face of her shoulder-attacker, "oh, it's you. what do you want?"
"to make things bett-"
"no, no, i told you it was over; and i told you i can't forgive you, it'll never be the same, i told you to get out of my life. why have you appeared at my doorstep every 5 weeks?"
"because..," he said, but then stopped.
"because what? you can never make up for what you did," she said, curtly, and then opened the basement door and slammed it in his face. she stomped down the stairs, then noticed a glowing orb to the side of the room.
